In my opinion, Baldwins sound absolutely gross, in a way that Young Changs don't, but have more reliable actions than Young Changs. Regarding Young Changs are serviceable but definitely a tier below Yamaha and Kawai, maybe a little below Baldwin, even. That appraisal ($3,300) seems about right. I'm far from an expert on pianos but I grew up playing on a Young Chang baby grand, 5'-6", around the same vintage as this one from TX. I talked to a local music store while buying some piano books to get their opinion and the woman was pretty down on Young Chang's in general (kept harping about their poor quality), but she quickly segued into showing me some Kohler & Campbell used pianos they had in stock and their financing options.so I don't trust her opinion much.

This is a 2,000 mile trip (from TX to WA) which from some research looks to be about $2,500-$3,000 for shipping. I brought up the idea of having us pay to ship it to us instead and we could get a good deal on a better piano. My wife's aunt and uncle are moving out of their house and were planning to donate their piano rather than sell it.
